Eilat, the most southern city in Israel is an oasis at the coast of the red sea, and a meeting point of sun, desert and sea. Eilat gulf divides the Sinai desert and the Saudi-Arabia peninsula.
Eilat is the leading tourist city of Israel and tourism is the main income source of the city with dozens of hotels and apartments which makes for some 12,000 rooms for visitors. Other businesses also rely on the tourists and visitors. The city is attractive because of its astounding views, the very warm weather, all year round, natural attractions along with tourist attractions, happenings and festivals. Eilat's locals are pleasant and welcoming, and always good hosts. The city is surrounded by mountains. Granite Mountains at the west and the Edom Mountains at the east. The sea in Eilat is a deep blue tropical sea, a natural environment for thousands of fish and coral. The water temperature is suitable for swimming and diving all year round and with its unique coral reservation and dolphin reef, Eilat appeals to scuba divers internationally. Most residents of Eilat are temporary residents, with 70% residents living in Eilat for a period lesser then ten years. For this reason Eilat Real Estate is mainly focused on hotels and housing for temporary employees of the tourist industry. Eilat has a crucial position for the state of Israel, being on the border of both Egypt and Jordan. Two countries that Israel is now at peace with, and therefore have legal crossings to Taba in Egypt and to Aqaba in Jordan. Because of the special location of Eilat, the Israel government is looking to attract more permanent residents to the city and this has been done by declaring that many of the products in Eilat are free of V.A.T. Eilat real estate has seen its share of changes, when Eilat used to be known as the "real estate diamond of Israel" a few decades ago, took a hard dive when the 'Intifada' broke. But lately, with the fall of the Dollar against the Shekel, many investors are returning to Eilat and buying more and more property. |
