Herzlia is a city on the coastline of Israel between Netania and Tel Aviv. It has a population of 84,000, mostly Jewish. The education system in Herzlia is the second in Israel, in the sense of financial investments and it is located in the leading places in exams results.

There are 15 elementary schools, 6 junior high schools, 7 high schools and 3 external and private high schools in Herzlia. Also there are about 80 synagogues in the city.

Herzlia was first settled in 1924 as an agricultural, leisure and urban settlement and became a city on 1960. The founding fathers of Herzlia were Zionist Americans who purchased Israeli lands for Jewish Americans who planned to immigrate to the Holly Land. In 1948 Hezlia's population was 5,300 and in the following couple of years it doubled, with the immigration wave of the 1950's. As the years passed Herzlia became, from an agricultural settlement to an advanced industrial city.

Geographically, Herzlia is located close to the shore of the Mediterranean with a long and wide coast. The west part of the city – "Herzlia Pituach" is mostly built of Villas and private houses. The real estate closer to the sea includes Villas, Hotels and the Marina Herzlia. South-East to it is Herzlia's industry zone. East to the Ayalon highway Herzlia has many public areas, including the city soccer court, the Seven Star Mall, the city Sportek and several schools. Further east is the main residential are of the city.

There are several neighborhoods in Herzlia, here are some of them:

Nahalat Ada is at the north end of Herzlia. It was established in the early 1950's, and was inhabited, mainly, by immigrants from Yeman. At the beginning of the millennium new residential buildings were built in it. The neighborhood has two synagogues, one Yemenite and one Tripoli.

Young Herzlia is on the border between Ramat-HaSharon and Hezlia and it used to be the home of many Yemenite immigrants. Today the neighborhood is the place for luxury real estate, with many prestigious villas.

Neve-Amal is the neighborhood with the most synagogues in Herzlia as most of its population is religious or orthodox. There are also two elementary schools in the neighborhood.

Herzlia Beit has a mixed population living in a mixed real estate with old 2 to 4 floors buildings side to side with impressive villas.

Herzlia Pituach is the most prestigious in Herzlia real estate, and one of the most luxurious places to live in Israel, with most of the houses being villas. Galei-Tchelet Street is located close to the shore with a view to the sea and on it are the most expensive houses in Israel, including the house of the ambassador of the United States. Many other ambassadors live in Herzlia Pituach, and the list of residents includes former Israeli president Haim Herzog and the secretary of foreign affairs. Closer to the shore you can find a few hotels, and on the south the Marina Herzlia and the Herzlia Medical Center.

In the 1960's the industrial zone was distanced from the city with nothing but factories in its territory. As time went by some of the factories closed and the high-tech era has began. Many business towers were built for high-tech companies in the area and today it is one of the strongest high-tech centers in Israel with many restaurants and trade areas that attract clients from outside Herzlia as well. For business and industry purposes this is the best location of Herzlia real estate.

Herzlia has a 7 kilometer long coast line. The beaches are maintained well and often populated by Herzlia residents as well as visitors from other cities and tourists.

The Marina in Herzlia has two parts. One part is a public area with a city square, entertainment and trade areas, marine sports clubs and a hotel. The other part is the harbor, open for approximately 800 boats and ships. The Marina project includes a plan for a hotel that will offer 750 housing units for tourists.
